Issue No. 1315- Fasting is to refrain from acts which invalidate one's fast from fajr adhān to maghrib in obedience to commands of Allah; as will be explained in the coming issues.

The Definition of Justice

Issue No. 1268- ‘Justice’ is an inner state of fearing Allah; a state that prevents one from committing major sins and repeating minor ones. When we associate with someone and we do not see him committing any sin, it is an indication of him being just. This is called ‘apparent goodness’ which expresses the above mentioned inner state of a person.

Issue No. 993Muwālāt [Maintaining the form of Prayer]

The Definition of Muwālāt

Issue No.993- One should observe muwālāt during prayer, meaning, he should not leave a lengthy break between the acts of prayer, such as rukū‘ and sajdah, which disturb the form of prayer. Therefore, if one does so intentionally or unintentionally, the prayer will be void.

Issue No. 484Nifās (Lochia)

The Definition of Nifās

Issue No.484- The blood which is discharged when the first part of the baby comes out of the mother's womb during the process of childbirth is called nifās (lochia) and the woman in this state is called “nafsā’ ”. Therefore, the blood, which is discharged before the baby comes out, is not considered as nifās.

The Definition of Takbīrat-ul-iḥrām

Issue No.871- The first part of the prayer is "Allahu Akbar" which is called “takbīrat-ul-iḥrām”. Leaving it out, intentionally or by mistake, renders the prayer void. However adding to it (i.e., to pronounce it twice) intentionally, will cause the prayer to become void.

The Details and the Particulars of the Vow Need Not To Be Desirable in Religion

Issue No. 2282- It is not necessary that all the particulars and acts within a vow be desirable. As long as the main act as a whole is desirable in religion, it will suffice. For example, if a person makes a vow that he will perform Night Prayer on the first night of each month, it is in order and he should act upon it accordingly. Likewise, if he makes a vow that he will serve food to the poor in a certain place, he should act according to it.

The Difference Between the Cities in Weight and Measures and Counting the Commodities

Issue No.1770- The commodities which are sold by weight and volume in some cities, and in some other cities by counting, (like eggs which are sold, nowadays, in some areas by weight and in some others by counting) if they are sold in the city where they are sold by weight and volume and receives more for that, it is usury and haram, but there is no harm in the other city.

The Difference between Forcing Down the Throat of a Person Who Is Fasting and Compelling Him to Break His Fast

Issue No. 1396- If something is forced down the throat of a person who is fasting or his head is immersed in the water by force, his fast will not become void. However, if he is compelled to break his fast, for example if he is told that if he does not take food, he would be subjected to financial or physical harm, and he himself eats something to prevent that harm, the fast becomes void.

The Disliked Eating Manners

Issue No. 2269- The following acts are regarded as disliked while having a Meal:1- To eat when full.2- To overeat. It has been reported in a hadith that there is nothing worse than a stuffed stomach in the eyes of Allah (swt).3- To look at others’ while eating.4- To eat food while it is still hot.5- To blow on the food or drink which one is eating or drinking.6- To wait for something more after bread has been served on the dining cloth.7- To cut bread with a knife.8- To place a loaf of bread under the food pots or plates or any disrespect to it.9- To peel those fruits which are normally eaten with their skin.10- To throw away the fruit before one has eaten it fully.
