Issue No. 1132Changing One’s Mind During Journey

One Who Doubts about His Journey Before Reaching Eight Farsakhs

Issue No.1132- If a person commences his journey to a place, which is at a distance of eight farsakhs or more, and before reaching eight farsakhs, he hesitates whether to proceed further and stops then later decides to cover the remaining journey, he should offer qaṣr prayer. In case however, he is in the state of hesitation and continues to travel until he decides to continue the journey intended, if the remaining distance and the distance that he had covered earlier with the intention [of travelling more than eight farsakhs] sum up to eight farsakhs or more, he should offer qaṣr prayer.

Issue No.928- If a person is different from people in the hands and knees, e.g., if his hands are very long so that if he bends a little they reach his knees, or his knees are lower than others, so that he must bend himself much to make his hands reach his knees, he should bend to the usual extent.

Issue No. 1172Having the Intention of Staying for Ten Days

One Who Intends Staying Ten Days and Fasts But Gives up at Afternoon

Issue No. 1172- If a person, who has decided to stay at a place for ten days, engaged in offering a fast and abandons the idea of staying there after midday and has already offered a four rak‘at prayer, his fast, is correct, and he should offer complete prayer so long as he stays there. If he has not offered a four rak‘at prayer, the fast of that day is not valid and he should offer qaṣr prayer.
