Dhikr of Qunūt
Issue No.998- It is not necessary to recite a particular dhikr or supplication in qunūt. It is better that while reciting qunūt, a person should keep his hands in front of his face, join the palms of his hands, and keep them facing the sky, join all his fingers, and recite the dhikr of Allah or recite supplications. Whatever a person recites in qunūt is sufficient, even if he says, “سُبْحانَ اللهِ” only once. However, it would be better to recite supplications such as the following:لا اِلهَ إلاَّ اللّهُ الْحَليمُ الْکَريمُ لا اِلهَ إلاَّ اللّهُ الْعَلِىُّ الْعَظيمُ سُبْحانَ اللّهِ رَبِّ السَّمَواتِ السَّبْعِ وَ رَبِّ الاْرَضينَ السَّبْعِ وَ ما فيهِنَّ وَ ما بَيْنَهُنَّ وَ رَبِّ الْعَرْشِ الْعَظيمِ وَالْحَمْدُ لِلّهِ رَبِّ الْعالَمينَ and ask Allah to fulfil his requests in this world and the Hereafter.
