Methods of Identifying a Sayyed

Issue No. 1574- There are two ways to identify a sayyid from a non-sayyid:1- When two just persons confirm that he is sayyid (one will also suffice).2- When he is known in his town or community as sayyid irrespective of whether this causes one to be certain or just brings presumption.

Issue No. 1531Mine

Mine has been Located in other Person's Land

Issue No. 1531- If a person extracts a mineral from the land belonging to another person, it belongs to the owner of the land. And as the owner of the land has not spent anything for extracting it, he [the owner] should pay khums on the entire quantity taken out of the mine. However, if extraction has been carried out by his order, the expenditure should be deducted from the profit of the mine.

Mine is Eligible for Khums under any Circumstances

Issue No. 1528- Khums should be paid on minerals whether the mine is on the ground, or under it, and whether it is located in an owned land or at a place which has no owner, whether the extractor is a Muslim or non-Muslim, or is mature or not. In case the mineral is acquired by a child, his legal guardian should pay khums on it.

Mispronouncing a Word or a Letter of Prayer

Issue No.914- If a person does not know a certain word of al-fātiḥa or the sūrah, or other dhikrs in the prayer, or does not correctly pronounce Arabic linguistic signs like "fatha" or "kasra", or mispronounces one letter instead of another like “Z” for “Ḍ” in a way that it would be counted wrong according to the Arabic language, his prayer is void.

Mixing Usurped Property with Other Things

Issue No. 2183- If a usurped thing is mixed with another, and if it is possible to separate them, he should separate them though it may involve hardship for him, and should return the usurped thing to its owner. And if he has placed it in a faraway place, he will bear all the expenses of transferring that property to its owner.

Moving During Prayer

Issue No.885- When a person in prayer wishes to go a little backward or forward or to move his body a little towards the right side or the left side, he should not recite anything at that time. However, this phrase"بِحَوْلِاللهِوَقُوَّتِهِاَقُومُوَاَقْعُدُ" should be recited while rising from prostration.

Issue No. 882Qīyām (to stand)

Moving the Body Forgetfully

Issue No.882- If, while standing for al-fātiḥa and sūrah, a person forgetfully moves his body and feet or inclines towards one side or lean on something, the prayer is not void. However, if it is at the time of takbīrat-ul-iḥrām or qīyām connected to rukū‘, he should, as an obligatory precaution, finish the prayer and then offer it again.

Issue No. 2307- An endowment can also be established and proved through indication. That is, as soon as a person constructs a mosque with an intention of endowing it for Muslims and when he hands it over to them, that will be sufficient, though he may not utter the verbal formula.
