Issue No.760- It is not permissible for men to perform prayer with clothes embroidered with gold and this will make the prayer void. However, there is no problem in women wearing it, as long as it is not considered to be extravagant. Anyhow, it is haram for men even not in prayer to wear clothes embroidered with gold.
Issue No.763- It is haram for men to wear pure silken clothes, including silky skullcaps or suspenders, and prayer with them is void; even the lining of clothes should not be made of pure silk. However, women are allowed to wear silken clothes whether in prayer or not.
Issue No.774- In the following six cases, the prayer offered by a person whose body or clothes are najis is correct.1- If his body or clothes are stained with the blood of a wound or an abscess. 2- If the blood on the body or clothes isless than a dirham (which is almost equal to the upper joint of the forefinger). 3- If his small clothes, like socks and skullcap, are najis.4- A najis object carried by a prayer performer. 5- A babysitter's clothes. 6- If he has no alternative but to offer prayer with a najis body or clothes; for instance, he is stuck somewhere and his najis clothes cannot be replaced, or the prayer time is too short for making them ṭāhir; in these cases because of the urgency, his prayer in najis clothes is correct. Rules of these issues will be explained in detail.
Issue No.775- First: If there is blood of a wound, sore or abscess on the body or clothes of the prayer performer, and the condition is such that rinsing the body or clothes is hard, he may offer prayer with that blood so long as the wound or abscess does not heal up. And the same rule applies to the pus which has come out with blood, or a medicine applied to the wound that has become najis. However, if the wound heals up soon and the blood on the body or clothes can be washed off easily, then it should be washed and made ṭāhir.
Issue No.781- Second: If the blood on the body or clothes of a person is less than a dirham (which is almost equal to the upper joint of the forefinger), it is permissible to perform prayer with it provided that the blood is not of ḥayḍ, nifās, or istiḥāḍah and of a dog, pig, dead body or haram meat animal (as an obligatory precaution).
Issue No.786- Third: If a small piece of clothing of a prayer-performer with which the private parts cannot be covered (like skullcap and socks) becomes najis, the prayer performed with it is correct. The same ruling applies to a najis ring and eyeglasses.
Issue No.787- Fourth: If there is a najis handkerchief or clothes, with which one’s private parts can be covered, in one’s pocket while performing prayer, the prayer is correct. Also, if there are any other najis objects in one’s pocket, prayer with them would be correct. However, the recommended precaution is to avoid them during prayer.
Issue No.788- Fifth: A nanny, who is not able to easily have ṭāhir clothes for prayer, can perform prayer with najis clothes if she cannot easily have ṭāhir clothes for prayer, if she washes her clothes once in 24 hours, even if her clothes become najis with the urine of a child. However, she should, as an obligatory precaution, wash her clothes for the first prayer which she offers.
Issue No.714- One should perform all obligatory prayers facing the qiblah.
Issue No.720- There are many ways for determining the direction of the qiblah: First, one should make efforts to locate the direction of the qiblah such that he becomes sure of it. Also, he can act upon the statement of two just persons, or one reliable person who gives evidence on the basis of sensory signs, or act upon the statement of a person who knows the direction of the qiblah by a reliable scientific rule. If that is not possible, he should guess through the altar (miḥrāb) of the mosque or from the graves of the Muslims, or by other ways and means, and act accordingly.
Issue No.700- There are many recommended prayers which are generally called nawāfil (plural form of nāfilah), but more importance and attention has been placed upon the daily nawāfil.
Issue No.702- Out of the eleven rak‘ats of the night prayer, eight rak‘ats should be offered with the intention of the night prayer, two rak‘ats with the intention of shaf‘ prayer, and one rak‘at with the intention of Witr prayer.
