Issue No. 2090- In respect to obligatory ḥijāb, it is sufficient if a woman covers her body, other than her face and hands up to the wrists, with anything she can, and particular clothes are not required. However, it is not permissible as an obligatory precaution to wear tight, body-hugging, and ornamental clothes.

Issue No. 2092- There is no problem in hearing a non-maḥram woman’s voice if it is not with the intention of lustful pleasure and if it does not lead to falling into sin. However, the woman should not make the tone of her voice in a way that would be provocative for others.

Issue No. 2095- The obligatory precaution is that a man and a woman who are not maḥrams to each other should not gather at a private place where there is no other person and none can also enter. Even if they offer prayers there, the prayer is void as an obligatory precaution.

Invalidation of Marriage because of Apostasy and Related Rules

Issue No. 2097- If a Muslim man who is born from Muslim parents becomes an apostate and denies Allah or the Prophet Muhammad (ṣ), or denies one of the indisputable commandments of Islam, likedenial of prayer and fasting being obligatory, in a manner that the denial entails denial of Allah or the Prophet (ṣ), his marriage becomes revoked, and his wife should separate from him and observe ‘iddah for death, that is, she should observe the waiting period of a woman whose husband has died. Once the ‘iddah period is over, she can marry another man. If she has reached the age of menopause or has not yet had sexual intercourse with her husband, it is not necessary for her to observe ‘iddah.
