Issue No. 1397- A person who is fasting should not enter a place where he knows that something will be forced down his throat or he will be compelled to break his fast himself. However, if he intends to go but then does not go or after he goes there, they do not force anything down his throat, his fast will remain valid.
Issue No. 1399- If a person intentionally and knowingly commits acts which invalidate fast, not only does his fast becomes void but he should also offer qaḍā and kaffāra. However, if it is on account of being ignorant in knowing the rule, there is no kaffāra, but he should offer qaḍā.
Issue No. 1400- If a person who is fasting commits an act that he knows is haram but does not know that it invalidates the fast, he should offer qaḍā without kaffāra.
Issue No. 1402- If it is not possible to fulfil any of these three acts, one should give the poor as many mudds of food as he can afford. In case it is not possible, one should fast for eighteen days and if he cannot do this either, one should fast for as many days as he can. However, if he cannot offer either, he should repent. It will be sufficient to say “استغفرالله” in his mind and it is not obligatory to offer the kaffāra later when he is capable of it.
Issue No. 1403- The one who intends to fast sixty days as kaffāra, should observe thirty-one fasts consecutively. However, it is not necessary to observe the aforementioned [1] eighteen fasts consecutively.
Issue No. 1404- In case it is necessary to observe fasts consecutively, if one does not perform a fast intentionally, he should commence fasting again. However, if a person cannot maintain the continuity on account of some excuse, like for example: monthly menstruation or nifās or a necessary journey, he/she can proceed to observe the remaining fast after the excuse is removed, and it will not be necessary to commence fasting again from the beginning.
Issue No. 1406- If a person who is fasting ascribes lies to Allah and the Holy Prophet (pbuh) one kaffāra will be enough and it is not necessary offer collective kaffāra.
Issue No. 1409- If a person who is fasting belches and something enters his mouth, he should not swallow it, otherwise, his fast will be void, and he should offer qaḍā and kaffāra but it would not be necessary to offer collective kaffāra.
Issue No. 1410- If a person vows to fast on a particular day, in case he does not observe it intentionally or terminates it on that day, he should offer kaffāra (its kaffāra is like the kaffāra of the fast of the month of Ramadan).
Issue No. 1411- If a person who is fasting terminates his fast when someone unreliable informs him that maghrib has set in and he learns later that maghrib had not set in, it is obligatory on him to offer qaḍā and kaffāra.
Issue No. 1412- If a person intentionally terminates his fast and then travels, he will not be exempted from the kaffāra. However if he/she invalidates his fast intentionally and then an excuse like ḥayḍ, nifās or sickness occurs, kaffāra will not be obligatory upon him/her.
