Following a Person Who Offers Defective Prayer Due to an Excuse

Issue No. 1271- If the imam leads his prayer with tayammum, or jabīrah wuḍū, one can follow him. However, if because of some valid excuse, he has no alternative but to perform the prayer in najis clothes, one should not follow him, as a recommended precaution. However, one who suffers from a disease, owing to which he cannot control his urine or faeces and also mustaḥāḍah women and generally speaking, anyone who offers defective prayer on account of an excuse cannot, as an obligatory precaution, lead the prayer for others.

Issue No.142- In addition to observing the issues concerning ṭahārah and najāsah, It is recommended to observe cleanliness of the body, clothes, home, vehicle and the whole environment as manifested in the acts of the holy prophet (ṣ) and the infallible Imams (as).

Forgeting a Part of Sūrah

Issue No.905- If the person offering prayer forgets a part of sūrah, or cannot complete on account of shortage of time, he can abandon that sūrah, and recite another sūrah, although he may have recited half of it, or even if it may be sūrah al-Ikhlāṣ or al-Kāfirūn.

Issue No. 880Qīyām (to stand)

Forgetting Performing Rukū‘

Issue No.880- If a person forgets to perform rukū‘, and sits down after reciting al-fātiḥa and sūrah, and then remembers that he has not performed rukū‘, he should first stand up and then go to rukū‘. If he returns to rukū‘ immediately (without having stood up first), his prayer will be void because he has not performed the qīyām connected to rukū‘

Issue No. 1313Rules of Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha Prayers

Forgetting Sajdah or Tashahhud

Issue No. 1313- If a person forgets one sajdah or tashahhud in Eid prayer, the obligatory precaution is that he should perform it after the prayer. Similarly, if something takes place in the Eid prayer that if had happened in daily prayers, would entail sajdah al-sahw, the obligatory precaution is that he should perform sajdah al-sahw after the prayer.

Issue No. 1321The Intention (Nīyyah) of Fasting

Forgetting to Make the Intention of Fast in Ramadan

Issue No. 1321- If in the month of Ramadan, one forgets to make the intention of fast, the fast is correct provided that he makes the intention immediately when he remembers before ẓuhr adhān and he has not done any act that invalidates the fast. However, if he makes the intention in the afternoon, it will not be correct.
