Doubt about Number of Rak'ats of Ihtyat Prayers

Issue No.1094- When a person doubts about the number of the Rak’ats of Precautionary Prayers, he should decide on the higher side, but if the higher side renders the Precautionary Prayers void, he should decide on the lesser and his prayers will be in order.

Doubt about Offering Ihtyat Prayersn

Issue No.1092- If a person doubts whether or not he offered the Precautionary Prayers which was obligatory on him, if the time of prayers has lapsed, he should ignore the doubt. And if he has time at his disposal, and he has not performed an act which invalidates the prayers, he should offer Precautionary Prayers and if he has performed an act which invalidates the prayers, the obligatory precaution is that he should offer Precautionary Prayers and repeat his prayers as well.

Issue No.657- If a person doubts, after he has performed tayammum, whether or not he has done it correctly, he should not pay heed to his doubt and in case he doubts while performing tayammum, the obligatory precaution is that he should perform the part about which he is doubtful.

Doubt about Pronouncing Takbīrat-ul-iḥrām

Issue No.878- If a person doubts whether he has pronounced takbīrat-ul-iḥrām or not, if he has started reciting al-fātiḥa, he should ignore his doubt, and in case he has not yet read anything, he should pronounce takbīr. However, if he knows that he has pronounced takbīrat-ul-iḥrām, but he doubts whether he has pronounced it correctly or not, he should ignore it if this doubt is after takbīr.

Doubt about Reaching the Limit of Tarakhus

Issue No.1157- If a person doubts whether or not he has reached the limit of tarakhuṣ, or whether the voice he hears is of adhān or not, he should offer complete prayer. In case, however, he hears the adhān but the words are not clear, he should, as an obligatory precaution, offer both complete as well as qaṣr prayer.
