Issue No. 235Removal of Original Najāsah

When the Inner Parts of the Human Body Become Najis

Issue No.235- The inner parts of the human body (like the inside of the mouth or nose), become ṭāhir after the removal of a najāsah. Hence, if gums bleed and the blood disappears in saliva or he spits the blood out rinsing the mouth will not be necessary. Therefore, in general if something comes into contact with a najāsah in someone's inner parts it does not become najis. However, if artificial teeth become najis they should be rinsed, as a recommended precaution.

When the Only Water Available Is in a Gold,Silver or Usurped Container

Issue No.297- If the water for wuḍū is in a gold, silver or usurped container, and there is no water other than this, one should perform tayammum and it is not allowed to make wuḍū as an obligatory precaution neither by immersion nor by pouring water on the face and arms by hand. However, he can pour the water which is in that container into another one and then perform wuḍū from the second container.

Issue No.276- If the palm dries, one can obtain moisture from other parts of wuḍū and wipe with it, but he is not allowed to acquire wetness other than this way and if the wetness of the palm is just enough for wiping the head, he must wipe the head first and obtain moisture from other parts of wuḍū and wipe the feet with it.

Issue No.190- If an object is washed and the original najāsah is removed, there is no harm if its smell or colour remains in it. And if one doubts whether the original najāsah is still there or not, it must be washed until its removal is certain.

When the Usage of Water Endangers One's life or his Companions'

Issue No.628- If a person has enough water, but fears that if he uses it for wuḍū or ghusl, he, his children or his friends and companions will suffer an acute thirst which may result in their illness or death, or it may cause intolerable hardship, he should perform tayammum and keep the water. Also, if a non-Muslim’s life is in danger, he should give the water to him and perform tayammum. The ruling applies to animals too.

When the Wound Is Bandaged or Plastered

Issue No.348- If the wound, abscess or fractured bone is bandaged or plastered, and if undoing it is not very difficult or harmful, and water is not harmful to it either, one should undo it and then perform wuḍū, or else, he should wash the adjacent parts of the wound or fractured bone. However, the recommended precaution is that he should pass a wet hand on the jabīrah, and if the jabīrah is najis or it is not possible to pass the wet hand on it, he should place a ṭāhir piece of cloth on it and wipe the wet hand on that cloth.
