Types of Marriage

Issue No. 2024- The relation between a man and a woman becomes lawful (halal) by contracting marriage. There are two kinds of marriage:(i) Permanent marriage. In a permanent marriage, the period of matrimony is not fixed and it is forever. The woman with whom such a marriage is concluded is called “dā’imah” (permanent wife).(ii) Temporary marriage, which is a fixed-time marriage. In a fixed time marriage, the period of matrimony is fixed; the duration can be short or long. This sort of fixed time marriage is called Mut‘ah.

Types of Unmixed

Issue No.22- Unmixed water is of five types, each having its own ruling. The five types of unmixed water are:1) Kurr Water 2) Less than Kurr Water (Qalīl) 3) Flowing Water (Jārī) and tap water, 4) Rainwater 5) Well water.All of these types of water are ṭāhir and muṭahhir (make ṭāhir) but mixed water does not make things ṭāhir; it becomes najis upon contact with a najis substance.

Types of Vow

Issue No. 2273- Vow is of two kinds: 1- A vow which is done in a conditional form, for example one says, “if my patient gets well, I will undertake to do such and such work for Allah”, this is called “Vow of gratitude”, or if I commit such and such a bad work, I will undertake to do a certain good act for Allah, and this is called “Vow for forbiddance”.2- An absolute vow, and that is a kind of vow in which a person, without any restriction or condition, says for example, "I vow to offer Night Prayers for the sake of Allah ". All of these vows are in order.

Issue No.888- If at the time of reciting al-fātiḥa, sūrah or tasbīḥāt arbaʿah [1], somebody moves unintentionally in a way that the body is no longer steady, or he is shoved in a crowd, he should recite all that he has recited while his body was in motion over again when his body becomes steady as an obligatory precaution.

Unmixed

Issue No.21- Water is either mixed (muḍāf) or unmixed (muṭlaq). Water which is mixed with something like syrup, or extracted from something like rosewater, fruit juice, etc., and is not called merely water anymore, is called mixed water. That which can be plainly called “water” without any clauses or qualifiers, is referred to as unmixed (muṭlaq) water, like all the normal waters out there.

Using Animal Skin for the Shroud

Issue No.549-It is not permissible as an obligatory precaution to shroud with the skin of animals, even halal meat ones, in normal circumstances. However, there is no harm to give a shroud with a cloth made of wool or fur of a halal meat animal, though, the recommended precaution is to avoid them.

Using Maluzzakat for Going to Hajj

Issue No. 1687- A poor person can receive zakāt for going to ḥajj or perfomring Ziyarat, etc., but if he has received zakāt for his annual expenses, then, it is not permissible to take zakāt for Ziyarat, etc. as an obligatory precaution.
