The Seven Obligatory Ghusls

Issue No.359- There are seven obligatory ghusls:1- Ghusl of janābah2- Ghusl for ḥayḍ3- Ghusl for nifās4- Ghusl for istiḥāḍah5- Ghusl for touching a dead body 6- Ghusl of dead body7- Recommended ghusl which becomes obligatory on account of a vow (nadhr) or an oath.

Issue No. 1566Uses of Khums

The Share of The Imam

Issue No. 1566- Khums should be divided into two parts. One part is the share of the Imam (as), and the other is the share of sayyids. The latter should be forwarded as an obligatory precation to the Mujtahid or his representative or should, with the permission of the Mujtahid whom he follows, be delivered to sayyids who are poor or are needy orphans, or sayyids who have become stranded without money during their journey, (though they may not be poor in their own hometown). However, the Imam’s share (as) should be given during the present time, to a just Mujtahid or his representative to be spent for such purposes to which the Imam (as) consents including those that serve the interest of Muslims and needs of Islamic seminaries, etc.

The Shot Animal Falls into the Water

Issue No. 2236- If an animal is shot and then, for example, it falls into the water, if one knows that the animal has died on account of having been shot, and falling into water, it will not be halal. In fact, if one doubts whether or not the animal has died only because of being shot, it is not halal.

The Sūrahs Which Are Recommended to Be Recited During Prayer

Issue No.926- It is befitting that in all prayers, one should recite sūrah al-Qadr in the first rak‘at, and sūrah al-Ikhlas in the second rak‘at, and not recite the same sūrah in the second rak‘at which one has recited in the first rak‘at, except for sūrah al-Ikhlas. It is not befitting to abandon reciting sūrah al-Ikhlas in all the daily prayers. It is better to choose the sūrahs for prayer which will draw the attention of people to matters based on their [spiritual] needs and which will help them stay away from the sins which they are prone to commit.

Issue No. 2439Insurance (2438)

The Specifications of Insurance Parties

Issue No. 2439- The parties to the insurance contract should be adult and sane, and the insurance contract should be made volitionally and with their free will, and none of them should be feeble-minded. In addition, they should specify all the particulars and details of the insurance contract including the following:1- The thing insured viz. vehicle or building or person.2- The parties to the insurance contract should be known.3- Instalments payable by the policy holder.4- The period of insurance including the date and year should be fixed.5- It should be stated for what kind of loss the Insurance company will be under obligation to compensate e.g. fire, bombing, sinking, theft, death or disease etc.6- The value of the insured object should be determined, for example, a particular house is insured for the amount of £20000.00 or more or less. However, the fair value of the day and all the general principles that are common and current should be taken into consideration and be observed.

Issue No. 1295Rulings of Āyāt Prayer

The Statement of Astronomers

Issue No. 1295- If a person becomes certain about the eclipse due to the statement of astronomers, he should offer āyāt Prayer. Also if they specify the time and duration of the eclipse and one is certain of what they say, he should act according to their statement.

Issue No. 1001Ta‘qīb (Recommended Supplications Recited After Prayers)

The Tasbīḥ of Lady Fatima

Issue No.1001- It is recommended that after offering the prayer, one should engage himself in reciting Dhikrs, supplications and the holy Qur'an. This is called Ta'qīb. It is better that before he leaves his place, and before his wuḍū becomes void, he should recite Ta'qīb facing the qiblah. Many Ta'qībs have been narrated in the books of supplications from the infallible Imams (as). The Tasbīḥ of Lady Fatima (peace be upon her) is one of the most important Tasbīḥs and accomplishes extreme divine rewards. This Tasbīḥ should be recited in the following order:“Allahu Akbar” 34 times, “Alḥamdulillāh” 33 times, “Subḥanallāh” 33 times
