Issue No.834- Building a mosque is mustaḥab and it is better that the mosque is located in a more suitable and better place so that more Muslims may use it. Repairing a mosque is mustaḥab too and it is considered as one of the best acts. And if a mosque is in a way that cannot be repaired at all, it can be demolished entirely and rebuilt.

Issue No.584- As an obligatory precaution, anything separated from the dead body, even the hair, nails or teeth, should be buried along with it in a manner that does not lead to exhumation. However, it is not obligatory to bury the nails or teeth cut off or extracted during lifetime but it is better to do so.

Burial of a Person Who Has Died in a Ship

Issue No.577- If a person dies on a ship and there is no fear of the decay of the corpse and there is also no problem in keeping it on the ship it should be kept on board and buried in the earth after reaching land. Otherwise, after performing ghusl, camphorating, shrouding and prayer, it should be placed in something that prevents the access of sea animals to it, and its door should be closed tightly and then lowered into the sea. And if that is not possible, a heavy object should be tied to its feet when dropping it into the sea. Furthermore, so far as possible, it should not be lowered into water at a place where the animals may eat it up at once.

Issue No. 2430- If a person exchanges “the real promissory note” for an amount less than that, for example, a $100.00 promissory note which is for a period of three months, he exchanges it for $90.00 cash, in other words, if a creditor sells a $100.00 note, which he has to realize from the debtor, for $90.00 in cash, there is no harm in this sort of transaction of promissory note and it is termed as ‘discount of the promissory note’. However, transaction on the friendly promissory note is not free of problem (harm), because no real debt is involved in it, and none of the ways suggested to solve this problem are free of problems.

Cancellation of Amanat

Issue No.1999- If a person renounces the custody of the property deposited with him and revokes the agreement, he should deliver the property to its owner or his agent or the legal guardian of its owner as quickly as possible, or inform them so that they retrieve their property. Therefore, in case he does not deliver the property to them without proper excuse and does not also inform them and the property perishes he should give its substitute.
