Signs of Semen

Issue 361-When one cannot ascertain whether the fluid discharged from his body is semen or other wetness, it will be treated as semen if it comes out with force and lustful enjoyment. If these two signs or either of them is not present, the discharged fluid will not be treated as semen. However, In the case of women and ill people, it is not necessary for the fluid to come out with force, but if it comes out at the climax of sexual lust (orgasm), it will be treated as semen.

Issue No. 2095- The obligatory precaution is that a man and a woman who are not maḥrams to each other should not gather at a private place where there is no other person and none can also enter. Even if they offer prayers there, the prayer is void as an obligatory precaution.

Situations Where Sajdah Al-Sahw Becomes Obligatory

Issue No.1099- As an obligatory precaution one should perform sajdah al-sahw after prayer in the following cases according to the method that will be explained: 1- Inadvertently speaking during prayer, Meaning engaging in speech [during prayer] assuming that the prayer has completed.2- Reciting salām at the wrong place, like in the second rak‘at of a four rak‘at prayer3- Forgotten sajdah,4- Forgotten tashahhud,5- If one inadvertently sits down where he should stand, and vice versa.6- When one doubts between four and five rak‘ats after the second sajdah, it is obligatory to complete the prayer, and then perform sajdah al-sahw. For omission or addition other than these cases, performance of sajdah al-sahw is mustaḥab.

Issue No. 774Exceptional Cases Where the Najāsah of Clothes or Body Is Allowed in Prayer

Six Cases in Which Praying with a Najis Body or Clothing Is Permissible

Issue No.774- In the following six cases, the prayer offered by a person whose body or clothes are najis is correct.1- If his body or clothes are stained with the blood of a wound or an abscess. 2- If the blood on the body or clothes isless than a dirham (which is almost equal to the upper joint of the forefinger). 3- If his small clothes, like socks and skullcap, are najis.4- A najis object carried by a prayer performer. 5- A babysitter's clothes. 6- If he has no alternative but to offer prayer with a najis body or clothes; for instance, he is stuck somewhere and his najis clothes cannot be replaced, or the prayer time is too short for making them ṭāhir; in these cases because of the urgency, his prayer in najis clothes is correct. Rules of these issues will be explained in detail.

Six Conditions of the Clothing Used for Praying

Issue No.735- There are six conditions for the clothes of the person praying:1- It should be ṭāhir. 2- It should not be usurped, as an obligatory precaution. 3- It should not be made of the parts of a dead body. 4- It should not be made of a haram meat animal. 5&6- If a person who offers prayer is male, his clothes must not be made of pure silk or be embroidered with gold. The details of these will follow.

Sūrahs That Contain Obligatory Sajdah Verses

Issue No.979- As was said earlier, there are some verses in four sūrahs of the holy Qur’an (sūrah al-Sajda 32:15, sūrah Fuṣṣilat 41:37, sūrah al-Najm 53:62 and sūrah al-‘Alaq 96:19) that whenever a person recites them or listens to them when recited by someone else, he should perform sajdah immediately. And if he forgets to perform it, he should do so when he remembers. However, if one is not listening and rather, he hears the verse unintentionally; he should perform sajdah as an obligatory precaution.

Slaughtering Several Animals Simultaneously by Machinery Equipments

Issue No. 2226- If several chickens or animals are being slaughtered at the same time, uttering one “بسم الله” will be sufficient for all of them. Similarly uttering one “بسم الله” will be sufficient when a great number of animals are slaughtered by machinery at the same time (provided that other conditions of slaughtering are met). And if the machine is in continuous operation, the name of Allah should, as an obligatory precaution, be repeated continuously.
