Bing Unable to stand to Offer Prayer

Issue No.890- A person who is not able to offer prayer in a standing posture, should sit down, but if he is able to stand and lean on a stick or against a wall, etc., or keep his feet away from each other, he should offer his prayer in a standing posture, unless it causes an extraordinary hardship for him. Also as long as a person can offer prayer in a sitting posture, even if he may have to lean against something, he should not offer his prayer in a lying posture. And if he cannot sit at all, he should lie on his right side, so that the front part of his body faces the qiblah. If he cannot lie on that side, he should lie on the left side. And if this is not possible either, he should lie on his back, with the soles of his feet facing qiblah.

Issue No.433- The first three days of ḥayḍ should be continuous. Therefore, if blood is seen for two days and then interrupted by one day and then seen again, it will not be ḥayḍ. Continuity of blood does not mean that during the three days blood should flow continuously, rather if the blood is present within the vagina, it will be sufficient.

Issue No. 2447- Transfusion of blood from one person to another is permissible for treatment of a disease or surgery or saving the life of someone, whether it is the blood of a Muslim or an infidel or a man or a woman. There is no harm in selling and buying blood for this purpose.

Blood of a Wound, Sore or Abscess on the Body or Clothing

Issue No.775- First: If there is blood of a wound, sore or abscess on the body or clothes of the prayer performer, and the condition is such that rinsing the body or clothes is hard, he may offer prayer with that blood so long as the wound or abscess does not heal up. And the same rule applies to the pus which has come out with blood, or a medicine applied to the wound that has become najis. However, if the wound heals up soon and the blood on the body or clothes can be washed off easily, then it should be washed and made ṭāhir.
