Issue No. 1674- If a person trades for himself with the property set apart for zakāt, it will not be right. However, if it is with the permission of the Mujtahid or his representative, it will be all right, and if he makes profit, he should give it to a person entitled to receive zakāt.
Issue No.639- If the things which were mentioned in the previous issue are not found, he should do tayammum on dust which settles on the clothes, etc., and if it is not found either, he should do tayammum on mud. And if none of these things is available he should, on the basis of obligatory precaution, perform prayer without tayammum, and later on should perform the prayer as qaḍā; such a person is called “Fāqid al-Ṭahūrayn”, i.e., one who lacks both water and earth or suchlike on which tayammum is allowed.
Issue No.859- It is not sufficient to hear the adhān from the radio, etc. Rather, those who offer prayer should themselves recite adhān as was explained before.
Issue No.762- Having front teeth out of gold as ornaments whether in prayer or not is not allowed for men as an obligatory precaution, unless having such is necessary.
Issue No.760- It is not permissible for men to perform prayer with clothes embroidered with gold and this will make the prayer void. However, there is no problem in women wearing it, as long as it is not considered to be extravagant. Anyhow, it is haram for men even not in prayer to wear clothes embroidered with gold.
Issue No.761- It is haram for men to wear gold, like a gold ring or gold wristwatch, etc., and the prayer offered while wearing these things will be void. As an obligatory precaution, using eyeglasses made of gold should also be avoided. But women are allowed to wear these things in prayer and outside of it.
Issue No.591- It is not permitted to scratch one’s face or body and hurt oneself for the death of someone. Also, it is not permissible to tear one’s clothes on the death of anyone except on the death of one’s father and brother.
Issue No.770- As an obligatory precaution, one should avoid wearing clothes which bring fame, meaning clothes worn with the intention of rīyā (showing off), for example having the intention of being known as a pious or hermit person, whether it is because of its fabric, colour or sewing pattern; although prayer performed in such clothes is not void. However, if one’s real intention is to wear simple clothes and there is no pretence or hypocrisy involved, then not only is it allowed, but it is also an appropriate act.
Issue No.568- It is makrūh to perform prayer on a dead body a number of times. Rather it is not permissible as an obligatory precaution for to offer the prayer several times. However, if the dead person was a learned and pious one, it is not makrūh to do so.
Issue No.943- There is no difference between obligatory or recommended prayers in terms of the rules of rukū‘, even with regard to performing an extra rukū‘, as an obligatory precaution.
Issue No.624- If it is inevitable for a person who has to acquire water to borrow [money for] it, it is obligatory to do so. However, if he knows or it is so likely that he cannot afford to pay it back, it is not obligatory for him [to borrow it]. Also, if a person gives him some water for free and his acceptance does not entail hardship or any sense of obligation towards the individual, he should accept it.
Issue No. 1350- A fasting person who had a seminal discharge while sleeping may urinate and perform istibrā although, he may know that as a result of his urinating, the remaining semen will exit his body; even if he has performed ghusl, the discharge of semen will not harm his fast. In this case however, repeating the ghusl is obligatory.
