Purchasing a Property which its Khums has not been Paid

Issue No. 1482- If a person purchases a property on which khums is due, his transaction will be void with respect to one fifth of it, unless a Mujtahid or his representative gives permission. In such a case, the khums of the price should be given to him, and if it has been given to the seller, the buyer should take it back and give it to the Mujtahid or his representative.

Qīyām

Issue No.879- Qiyam means to stand erect, and in two instances in prayers it is obligatory and considered to be a Rukn (basic element): one before saying Takbiratul Ehram, and the other before the Ruku' which is called Qiyam muttasil be Ruku’. But standing while reciting Surah Al-Hamd and the other Surah, and also standing after Ruku’ is obligatory but it is not Rukn.

Qīyām Is a Foundational Element

Issue No.879- Qīyām means to stand straight, and in two places of the prayer it is obligatory and considered to be a foundational element (rukn): one while uttering takbīrat-ul-iḥrām, and the other before the rukū‘ which is called the qīyām connected to rukū‘. However, standing while reciting sūrah al-fātiḥa and the other sūrah, and also standing after rukū‘ is obligatory, but not as a foundational element.

Qaḍā Prayer Offered by a Mustaḥāḍah

Issue No.423- A mustaḥāḍah may offer qaḍā prayer. However, she should perform wuḍū for each prayer as an obligatory precaution. As for the daily nawāfil [1] , the wuḍū performed for the obligatory prayer is sufficient. In addition, one wuḍū suffices for all the Night prayer provided that they are offered successively.

Qaḍā Is Not Obligatory on a Non-Muslim Who Has Embraced Islam

Issue No. 1193- A person who does not offer an obligatory prayer in the prescribed time, should offer qaḍā prayer though he may have been sleeping during the entire prayer time or may have failed to offer it owing to his having been ill or drunk. However, a person who has been unconscious during the entire prayer time, qaḍā is not obligatory upon him. Similarly, qaḍā is not obligatory on a non-Muslim who has embraced Islam and a woman who has had to leave out daily prayer, due to ḥayḍ or nifās.

Issue No. 336Urinary and Faecal Incontinence

Qaḍā Prayers of One who Is Cured from Incontinence

Issue No.336- When a person who has urinary and faecal incontinence recovers from the ailment, it is not necessary for him to repeat those prayers which he performed as prescribed during the period of his ailment. However, if he recovers before the time of a particular prayer ends, he should repeat that prayer, as an obligatory precaution.

Issue No. 1429Rules Regarding Qadha Fast

Qadha for Fasts left out due to Travelling or Illness

Issue No. 1429- A person must offer qaḍā for the fasts unperformed, due to travelling, illness, etc.; however, if he does not know the exact number of the unperformed fasts, it will suffice to perform qaḍā for the numbers he is sure he has not performed, and it will not be obligatory to offer qaḍā fast anymore, though it would be better, on the basis of recommended precaution.
