Issue No.807- In places where one is not sure whether he can finish his prayer or not due to the possibility of strong wind, rain, or the pushing of a crowd, etc., if he starts his prayer with the hope of being able to finish it and does not face any obstacles, his prayer is correct.

Praying in Leather Clothing

Issue No.752- One can offer prayer in leather clothes which have been purchased from the Muslim market, although he may doubt whether or not it has been made of the skin of an animal that has been slaughtered according to Islamic rules. However, if he is sure that the leather has been imported from non-Islamic countries and the seller is a heedless individual who has not investigated about it, it is not permissible to offer prayer with it, but if he does not know whether the leather has been imported from a Muslim country or a non-Muslim country, there would be no problem in performing prayer in it.

Issue No.816- It is mustaḥab to offer prayers in the mosque, and great emphasis has been laid on doing so. Masjid al-Haram is superior to all the mosques, and after it, the order of priority is as follows:1- Al-Masjid al-Nabawi2- The great mosque of Kufa3- The mosque of Bait al-Maqdis. And then the main mosque of every city, the mosque situated in one’s locality, and the mosque of the bazaar have the priority, respectively.

Issue No.817- Since the propagation of Islamic issues and teachings usually takes place in mosques, if women protect themselves from non-maḥram, it would be better for them to offer prayer in a mosque, and if there is no other way for learning Islamic issues other than going to the mosque, it is obligatory to go there.

Issue No. 808Miscellaneous Rulings about the Place of Praying

Praying in a Place Where Staying There Is Haram

Issue No.808- One should not perform prayer anywhere that it is haram to stay, (e.g., under a roof which is about to collapse, or at a place where there is the danger of landslide or flood), and in case he offers his prayer there, he should, as an obligatory precaution, repeat his prayer. Also, it is not permissible to offer prayer on an object upon which it is haram to step or sit, like a carpet with the name of Allah on it.

Issue No. 814Miscellaneous Rulings about the Place of Praying

Praying in a Sinful Gathering

Issue No.814- As an obligatory precaution, one cannot be alone with a non-maḥram in a place where no one can enter. Prayer in such a place is void as well, as an obligatory precaution. The same rule applies to performing prayer in a sinful gathering, like where people drink alcoholic beverages, gamble, or engage in backbiting.
