Leaving a Gap Between Wuḍū and Beginning Prayer

Issue No.333- It is necessary for a person suffering from continued incontinence to perform Prayer immediately after wuḍū, and it is not necessary to perform a new wuḍū for performing Precautionary prayer [1] and the forgotten sajdah or tashahhud, provided that he does not leave a gap between the prayer and these acts.

Issue No. 336Urinary and Faecal Incontinence

Qaḍā Prayers of One who Is Cured from Incontinence

Issue No.336- When a person who has urinary and faecal incontinence recovers from the ailment, it is not necessary for him to repeat those prayers which he performed as prescribed during the period of his ailment. However, if he recovers before the time of a particular prayer ends, he should repeat that prayer, as an obligatory precaution.

Issue No. 340Rules regarding Wuḍū

Touching the Holy Names without Wuḍū

Issue No.340- It is haram, as an obligatory precaution, to touch the Name of Allah, without wuḍū, in whichever language it is written. And it is also haram to touch, without wuḍū, the blessed names of the holy Prophet of Islam, the holy Imams and Lady Fatima (peace be upon them), if it violates their sanctity.

Issue No. 343Rules regarding Wuḍū

Acts for Which Wuḍū Is Recommended

Issue No.343- Wuḍū is recommended for the following purposes: (i) Recitation of the holy Qur'an; (ii) For the prayer for the dead individual; (iii) Reciting supplications, etc. It is also recommended for a person who has already performed wuḍū, to perform a fresh wuḍū for performing prayers. If wuḍū is performed for the purpose of any one of the above acts, it suffices for doing all acts in which performing wuḍūis required.

Issue No. 346Jabīrah Wuḍū

A Wound for Which Water Is Harmful

Issue No.346- If there is an open wound, abscess or broken bone in one’s face or hands, but water is harmful for it, it suffices if one washes its surroundings and wipes a wet hand on it if it is not harmful to it. However, if it is harmful, it is recommended that he places a ṭāhir piece of cloth on it and wipes a wet hand on that cloth.

Issue No. 350Jabīrah Wuḍū

If One Has a Jabīrah on the Palm of His Hand and Fingers

Issue No.350- If a person has a jabīrah on the palm of his hand and fingers and he has wiped a wet hand on it while performing wuḍū, he should also perform the wiping of his head and feet with the same wetness, and if it is not sufficient, he should take wetness from other parts of wuḍū.
