Issue No. 1068 – Obsessive individuals should not act on their certainty or doubt, rather they should act like normal individuals irrespective of whether they become sure or not; otherwise, their prayers would be void in many cases.
Issue No. 1070 - In order to inform the imam, the follower may tap his knee with his hand as many times as the rak‘ats of the prayer have been performed, or say Allahu Akbar, or inform him in any other way, which does not involve talking, or acts that invalidate prayer. However, he should not rise and continue the prayer before the imam.
Issue No. 1073 - There is no difference between doubts in the acts of obligatory or recommended prayers. For example, if one doubts about sūrah al-fātiḥa or rukū‘, and its time of performance has not passed yet, he should perform it, and if it has, then he should ignore it.
Issue No.1072- Omission or addition of foundational elements in recommended prayer (nāfilah) also invalidates it as an obligatory precaution.
Issue No. 1074 - In recommended prayers; one should act, as an obligatory precaution, upon his own presumption, so far that it does not invalidate the prayer. For example, if he presumes that he has offered two rak‘ats, he should pay heed to that probability, and if he presumes that he has offered three rak‘ats, he should consider himself offered only two rak‘ats.
Issue No. 1075 - There is no sajdah al-sahw for recommended prayers. That is to say, sajdah al-sahw is not necessary, if a person in recommended prayers performs an act, which, if he had performed it in an obligatory prayer, it would have been necessary for him to do sajdah al-sahw. Also, forgotten sajdah and tashahhud in recommended prayers have no qaḍā.
Issue No. 1076 - If a person doubts after the time of nāfilah has elapsed, whether he has offered it or not, he should ignore his doubt, but if there is still time left, he should offer it.
Issue No. 1080 - If initially the presumption of a person is inclined to one side, and later both sides [of the doubt] become equal bearing the situation of doubt, he should act according to the rules of doubt. On the contrary, if initially the situation of doubt existed but later was inclined to one side, he should act according to his presumption. However, if the doubt is among invalidator doubts and if it persisted at first, one should start the prayer afresh even though it may have changed into a presumption of the other side.
Issue No. 1081 - If a person does not know whether the state, which he is in, is ‘doubt’ or ‘presumption’, he should act according to the rules of doubt.
Issue No. 1082 - If a person is reciting tashahhud or enters the following rak‘at and doubts whether he has performed the two sajdahs or not, and at the same time falls again into a type of doubt [about the rak‘ats] which would be valid only if it occurred after completing two sajdahs (e.g. doubt between two and three rak‘ats), in this case, one should assume that he has performed two sajdahs and should act according to the rules of doubt, making his prayer would be correct. However, if the doubt occurs when the time of sajdah has not passed yet, the prayer will be void.
Issue No. 1083 - If the first doubt changes into a new doubt, he should act according to the rules of the second doubt. For example, if he doubted first whether he had offered two or three rak‘ats, and later he becomes sure that he had performed three rak‘ats and doubts whether he has offered three or four rak‘ats, he should act according to the rules of the second doubt.
Issue No. 1084 - If a person knows that while performing prayer he doubted, but does not know, for example, whether his doubt was between two and four rak‘ats or between three and four rak‘ats, he should, as an obligatory precaution, act according to the rules of both, and offer the prayer again as well.
