Offering Prayer While Neglecting the Time for Prayer

Issue No.685- If a person is negligent or unmindful of the fact that he should commence offering prayer after he is certain that the time for it has set in, and if he realises after the prayer that he has offered the entire prayer in time, his prayer is in order. In case however, he realises that he has offered his entire prayer or part of it before time, his prayer is void.

Issue No. 749It Should Not Be Usurped

Offering Prayer in Clothing Whose Khums and Zakāt Have Not Been Paid

Issue No.749- If a person purchases some clothes with money whose khums or zakāt has not been paid, his prayer in those clothes is void as an obligatory precaution. Similarly, if he buys some clothes on credit, and at the time of the deal, his intention is to pay for it from the money whose khums or zakāt has not been paid, or his intention is not to pay back his debt at all, his prayer is void as an obligatory precaution.

Issue No. 803Being Permissible (Mubāh)

Offering Prayer in Hotels, Baths, Inns and Personal Places

Issue No.803- There is no harm in offering prayer in hotels or in public bathhouses or other similar places which are meant for travellers and clients but performing prayer in private properties without the consent of the owner is not permissible except for when he gives a broad consent which includes performance of the prayer. For example, if he invites someone for lunch or dinner or to stay and sleep in his property from which it can be understood that he has given him permission for offering prayer as well.

Issue No. 798Being Permissible (Mubāh)

Offering Prayer in an Estate for Which Khums and Zakāt Have Not Been Paid

Issue No.798- If a person purchases a property with money from which khums or zakāt has not been paid, his use of that property is haram, and the prayer in it is void as an obligatory precaution. The same rule applies if he purchases a property on credit, and his intention at the time of purchase is to pay for it from the money whose khums or zakāt has not been paid. The obligatory precaution in this case is to avoid using that property.

Issue No. 804Being Permissible (Mubāh)

Offering Prayer on Large Farm Lands

Issue No.804- There is no problem in offering prayer, staying, sleeping in, and minor uses of vast expanse of agricultural and non-agricultural lands which have no walls around them and are not under cultivation, whether they are located near cities and villages or far from them, or whether the owner is minor or adult. However, if the owner explicitly expresses his discontent or we come to know that he does not deeply agree [from his heart], then it is haram to benefit from and prayer will be void there, as an obligatory precaution.
